Awarded 2021
AFL Coaches Association Women's Coaching Pathway Scholarship

In 2021 we expanded the Scholarship to include applications from women coaching in State Football Leagues (women’s and men’s) and players from the Women’s State Football Leagues and AFLW.

The AFL Coaches Association hatched the Women’s Coaching Crusade and AFLW Coaching Pathway Scholarship in 2019, out of the need to support ambitions of the AFLW players to help them realise their potential and fast-track their development to coach at the highest level.

The inaugural AFL Coaches Association AFLW Coaching Pathway Scholarship recipient was GIANTS Captain, Alicia Eva, and our 2020 winner was former Pie, Emma Grant.

Women coaching in State Football Leagues (women’s and men’s) and players from the Women’s State Football Leagues and AFLW were invited to apply for the 2021 AFL Coaches Association Coaching Pathway Scholarship.

The lucky 2021 Scholarship recipient will receive:

1.  A funded position to participate in the AFL Coaches Association’s Next Coach Program

2.  Mentorship from a current AFL Coach (with at least 10 years’ experience)

3.  Professional Development opportunities provided through AFL Coaches Association (value of up to $1,000)
